LATEST RESEARCH

The Steel Can Recycling Council is continually undertaking research to better understand people’s awareness and motivations around steel can recycling. In 2005 the SCRC has not only undertaken consumer awareness research but has also got involved in a number of bin audits to get a true picture of what is in the garbage and what is in the recycling.

To get a better idea of how consumers are educated via packaging, the SCRC carried out aisle research on what steel packaged products carry a recycling logo on them. In addition, the SCRC commissioned Nolan ITU to calculate the steel can recycling rate for Australia. To the right are the results of these four strands of research.
