SCRC CHALLENGE 2005

Steel Can Recycling Council – Local Government Challenge 2005

The Steel Can Recycling Council issued a challenge to all councils across Australia who offer their residents steel can recycling – “show us an increase in the amount of steel cans being collected for recycling and you and a colleague could win an overseas study trip worth over $10,000” All entries were impressive but leading the pack were:



Gosford's Waste Services Co-ordinator, Glen Pestell and Mayor, Clr Laurie Maher recieve their award from Philip Fleming and Tom Varga of the SCRC
WINNER Gosford City Council (NSW)
RUNNERS UP City of Unley (SA)
  Fairfield City Council (NSW)
HIGHLY COMMENDED Moonee Valley City Council (VIC)
  Woollahra Municipal Council (NSW)

The Steel Can Recycling Council would like to congratulate these councils for their outstanding waste education and residential collection programs that have contributed to significant increases in steel can recycling.
